Long and Lean

My little long and lean babies! We had a check-up with the doctor on Friday and it seems at this moment in time - the twins are long and lean! In the 3 months since their last checkup both have grown over 4 inches! What weight they put on gets spread out over some fairly tall kiddos! They are above the 50percentile mark for their real age...which is pretty darn amazing in my mind!

Having two on the move at the same time is insane! And I thought they were a handful before they started moving! That was a piece of cake compared to this! I was watching that show - A Baby Story- the other day and I had to turn it off because the people on it infuriated me! Every single couple spent the entire show saying "oh we are so tired" "The baby is so much work, yada yada, yada"
Give me a freakin' break people. One baby would be a breeze! There was never a time that my hubby or I got to say - "your turn" when a baby started crying. Because we had TWO crying, so we BOTH had to get up all night long. I totally can't watch that show. I completely loose my temper. LOL! More ranting later....

"You musta been a beautiful baby!"

She my brown eyed girl!
Momma didn't think to take bath time pictures until miss pea. Brother had already had his bath. Maybe next time!

"Crappy Monday" and Father's Day

Reid allows this kind of behavior - now had the roles been reversed...Ella would of been screaming bloody murder!

Oh it has been a "Crappy Monday" and I mean literally! Let's see - started off waking up at 4 a.m. and simply unable to go back to sleep. Started to wake one of the sleeping babies up just so I would have a valid reason to be awake at that hour! Finally fell back a sleep at 6 a.m. just as the alarm was going off and babies were waking up.
Then as my hubby is getting dressed to go to the doctor for a regular checkup he realizes he had pulled a muscle in his back wrestling with our oldest child the night before. WONDERFUL! He could barely dress himself. So as I am trying to get him out the door - both babies decide to unload in their diapers and demand to be changed! So what happens? oh you guessed it!
The nosey now mobile little toots managed to get into each others business as I am trying to get the other changed! Yes - poop was all over them, all over me, and Landman was running around yelling "oh gross! and I am screaming at him to help me and go get more wipes! The only thing that would of topped it off would of been if he had been totally grossed out and puked everywhere - which he has been known to do! And all of this had happened before 9 a.m.!
Thankfully, once everyone got an early morning bath - our day has improved!
Right now my two little handfuls are sitting in the floor playing and Landman has gone to a water park with a friend!

Father's Day came and went fairly uneventfully. When you have two 8 month olds and a 7 year old - finding time to get out and do Father's Day shopping becomes a full contact sport! We did all venture out on an early morning trip to Hobby Lobby to find stuff required to make Daddy a Father's Day photo. Meemaw insisted that I take all the kids picture with them spelling out DAD - once again simple in theory - extremely difficult in reality. But I attempted it - It wasn't great - but I am not used to trying to take photos of people with such short attention spans! Enjoy my many outtakes below!

Ella wanted to eat the letters of course - Reid tried to beat them to death and Landman was just bored with the whole process!

Ella realized she could hold the letters better than big brother.

Now Reid decides he can do a better job.

This was the winning photo. I did it in black and white so that their non-matching bottoms was not so obvious. Daddy pretended to love it even if he did really want an electric smoker... Sorry babe!

Lazy Days

The hot miserable days of summer are upon us. I am at home with three kids and trying desperately to keep my sanity! Oh - I think we are all going to be just fine. I feel sorry for Landman though because most of the time it is just way too hot for him to be outside in the heat - so I have to find things to keep both he and the babies happy and occupied! I have created him a daily schedule - and that seems to be working out great so far. He checks his schedule frequently and makes sure he has all his tasks completed. I try to make the payoff of completing his tasks good enough to keep him going!

The two little ones are a handfull. The are rolling and crawling and moving and talking - it is wild! And completely draining trying to keep up with two little active ones. If I walk away for a second and come back they are no longer in the same place...scary! They just don't make playpens big enough for twins - so that is out of the question - I have to try and create my own barriers for them- which they always manage to wriggle out of! Three kids in the house and still trying to work from home can sometimes be a little "pull my hair out" but I wouldn't trade the three kids part for the world! The working I can do without! Only 3 more weeks of that though!

I just hope this poor child's hair calms down as she gets older! Right now it always looks like she stuck her finger in a light socket!

Some days - there just is really no reason to ever get out of our pajamas!

Our den floor belongs to the twins!

Yes, I am a cutie!

It is so cool because now, they are starting to make the same facial expressions and you can really see their "twin -ness" People have told me they look alot a like - but I guess I don't see it as much as others do, so it is fun to notice them having the same mannerisms!

Momma - please, I am trying to play here!

Pulling up on our knees - so we can follow twin brother.

Glee is our other favorite program. Momma prefers this to DORA!

One thing I am really happy about being home during the summer with the kids is that means that Landon doesn't have to go to all day summer daycare! It was great and he loved it -but it also made it so that he really couldn't take off on a whim to do fun things either.

(You have to pay full price at daycare even if you aren't going to be there! - so of course we hated to have him miss days because it was like throwing money away!)

Since he isn't in daycare this summer - when Uncle Cameron calls one morning and wants Thriller to go to a week of rodeos with him - he can go! Which is where he is now. Uncle Cameron has taken him to Slack and they are planning on going back to an actual performance later. My cousin Lane is roping in a performance - so maybe daddy, the twins and I will sneak down for their first rodeo! I did make sure uncle Cameron knows that if Landman gets the rodeo bug - he will be the one doing the hauling. I spent four years of my life on the rodeo trail and believe me that was more than enough for my lifetime!

On the way to the rodeo with Uncle Cameron - (don't even ask about his reading material!)
Honestly though - that child would not of cared what they were doing - he is just so cool and full of himself that he and his uncle Cameron are out on an adventure all by themselves. Uncle Cameron even talked him into eating chips and hot sauce at the restuarant after the slack!

Dora!

Happy Anniversary Meemaw and Pops! 36 years of marriage, 4 kids, and 3 grandkids later! We love ya'll!

While both kiddos love anything on TV...both will go into a full on trance anytime I put Dora the Explorer on. Most stuff will catch their attention for a moment and then they go back to doing whatever they were doing - but with Dora - they will just watch and watch and watch! Of course Dora kinda makes momma want to pull her own hair out after about 10 minutes but I guess this is just one of the many sacrifices I will be making for my kids!

Another sacrifice seems to be my bed! The hubby and I finally broke down and moved the big crib into our bedroom - so I will feel better about putting them in it...well - Little miss Ella sleeps in it like a dream, but of course I wake up every thirty minutes to check on her. Reid seems to have become EXTREMELY SPOILED about sleeping next to his momma. He can be sound asleep next to me and the minute I try to pick him up to put him in the crib - he wakes up and screams bloody murder. Immediately stops and goes back to sleep if i put him back down on the bed with us.... ARRRGGHHH! But oh well - I don't get any sleep no matter where they are!

My handsome little boy started crawling this week. Well - he has figured out how to pull up on his knees and then pull with his upper body - so it isn't a full on crawl yet - but I imagine it is only a matter of time now! I would post video of it but anytime I try to film him - he gets distracted and doesn't perform. Typical! Ella can pull up on her knees but then she pushes backwards...haven't quite got the going forward thing down yet! Goofy Girl! Oh, time to baby proof the house and clutter it up with baby gates! oh Joy!
