Our Weekend

We had a very slow weekend. It pretty much amounted to baseball games and being lazy. We did bust out the swimming pool for the twins but after about 10 minutes the ice cold water was too much to take!  Just not quite hot enough yet!

Watermelon Woman

Ella Grace LOVES watermelon. She loves all fruits but really digs her some watermelon!

Her twin brother could careless. Her daddy and older brother enjoy it but they are not near as cute when they eat it!!

Here Lately

We have been pretty boring. Even worse I have just been lazy about posting pictures! I mean how many pictures can I take of the twins destroying their playroom?

He is so stinkin' cute it is criminal! Ironic since he is a CRIME FIGHTER!!!

Meemaw came and managed to get roped into a game of monopoly. Which I should of known she would get into it! She loves buying and selling stuff! She just pretended the hotels all had their own distinct fragrance!

I just love the exasperation in her voice as she is telling her twin brother the answer to his questions! Totally saying "Why are you asking this? You should know this by now!"

Am I a bad mother for showing this? And even worse because I can be heard laughing?  Once again, so stinkin' cute it should be a crime!

My Husband Can Never Divorce Me!!

This is only one of the many (hopefully!) reasons why my husband can and will never divorce me!!

He can NEVER leave me because as this video demonstrates....he would STARVE TO DEATH!!!

I Am The Mother of Captain America!!

And the mother of a pretty pretty princess that loves her fashion!

And the mother of a social butterfly that now spends most of his time with friends and is even at a overnight birthday party this Mother's Day morning!! (explains why this is my most recent picture of him!)

Happy Mother's Day to the other mothers in my family and especially to my wonderful mother! She is an excellent Mother but my children really scored because she is an AWESOME grandmother! (you think his mama would outfit him in complete Captain America garb! ha - not a chance!)  I love you Mom!!

My Dancing Queen

My sassy pants just loves to wear her dresses. Every morning if I bring out anything other than a dress for her to wear, she says "no mama, a dress!" and promptly walks me back to her room and points out which dress she wants to wear for the day!!  She is the girly girl I never was! My mama is squealing with glee at this very moment! Can you hear her? hahaha!   A lady that works for my mom bought this for her about a year ago but it just now fits! Preemie Problems! hahaha!  I just love my girly girl and love even more the fact that she loves to dance but that she also doesn't bat an eye at riding horses, playing basketball and wrestling with her twin brother and daddy!!

Glimpses of Our Weekend

For the most part we had a pretty uneventful weekend. Uncle Cameron and Pops came by and went to the horse races. Daddy, the twins and I were pretty much couch potatoes!

Then on Sunday afternoon after a trip to Sam's, an attempt at a nap (never happens...) and cleaning out of both vehicles, we allowed the twins to live up to their redneck genes! Big brother was at a friends house in a real pool!

And everyone is back to the old grindstone this morning. Landman to school, Daddy back to work after a week off for wisdom teeth extraction, me and twins back to our routine of destroying the house (twins) and trying to put it back together (me) and manage to get a little work done as well!

Field Day

Today was Landman's Field Day at school. What sick individual came up with Field Day. I am positive it was a bitter teacher who wanted to make all parents suffer! Daddy wasn't sure he would be able to make it, so after the twins and I ran some errands, we all put on our big kid pants and joined in on the absolute chaos. Thankfully, Daddy showed up about 20 minutes later.

They finally looked at me when I told them Captain America was sitting on my head! I won't repeat what Reid said to me when he saw I was not telling the truth! hahaaha.  No, I didn't get a picture of Landman - it would be like trying to take a picture of a moving needle in a moving haystack!

We had considered going with Uncle Cameron to the horse races tomorrow, but our short time outside in the 90 degree heat at field day, made it pretty clear that 6 hours at the horse races just probably isn't a good idea if we are not going to sit inside.... Bummer.

Happy Birthday to My Daddy!

Today, May 1, is my Daddy's Birthday. Of course these days he is better known as Pops. But he will always and forever be "my daddy!"  He is the most perfect father and I am so lucky to have him, but I am so grateful and say thanks everyday that my children have him as their Pops. I can honestly say that my motivation to have children really had less to do with my need for them but rather I wanted to make sure my children got to know my parents. I didn't want my kids to miss out on knowing how great their grandparents are, and being able to remember all the times spent with them.

 Did I mention that I love my daddy with all my heart!  Going to check cows with my dad was just as much fun when I was 3 (except for that lost ballet shoe thing) and when I was 15 and when I was 23 and when I am now 30. I never experienced a time of NOT wanting to go feed cows with my dad.

And I as I think about him, I begin to for the first time in my life realize that my competitiveness probably comes from my dad. You might think it comes from my mom, and probably some does, but Dad always turns everything into a competition.  From running around a tank (once again, a lost ballet shoe), guessing what time we will get home, doing pull-ups, memorizing a quote.... You name it, we were competing!

Really, I guess I should be saying thank you to my mama, for having the good sense to agree to a blind date with a boy from Comanche all those years ago the summer before college. And for agreeing to go back out with him months later when their paths crossed on campus at Tech. Thanks to her good taste, I have the most wonderful man as my father and as my children's Pops!  Thanks Mom!
